McDonalds vegan options USA 2022

Vegan diets have become very popular these days, especially since the beginning of the COVID-19 epidemic. The epidemic is actually making everyone focus on their diet, with many reducing their meat intake following the heavy cooking rituals at home under their own supervision.

With the growing number of people who care about health, the environment, and plant-based foods, vegan foods are becoming more and more popular.

A vegan diet is said to be beneficial in preventing diseases such as heart disease, certain cancers, type 2 diabetes, arthritis, and lung and kidney disease. Since vegan foods are mainly plant-based, they are high in fiber and low in cholesterol.

The vegan market is exploding with shocking new products, evolving and changing what you thought would never be better.

People are opting for Veganism

Speaking of Beyond Meat, a popular brand has partnered with McDonald’s to promote the world’s first vegan burger -the McPlant burger. The fast-food series plans to launch in 2021 but has not yet said where that will be.

It will make it even easier for most Americans to choose vegan, safe from countless horrific cattle rustling, slaughtering, dirty sheds, transport trucks, related to animal husbandry. Soon, there will be no excuse for you to eat food from leftovers.

With so many fast-food chains adding vegan meat to their menus and new and new vegan products are taking the shelves of the grocery store everywhere, it is safe to say that the world is increasingly cutting on meat. Soon, animal-derived options will be considered “one of the” vegan-specific options — that is, until they are completely unacceptable and out of date.

We are delighted to see the big chains that add plant-based options to their menus, but there is no doubt that consumers are looking for new and sustainable products with a real commitment to taste and sustainability.

To get into vegan fashion faster than ever, Mcdonalds’ is planning to introduce the newest vegan-friendly options in its menu much sooner than expected. You can get a Mcdonalds’ vegan snack, but more than that will not be very satisfying. So here is the list of vegan options at Mc Donald’s:

Vegan Breakfast Options at McDonalds:

  • McDonald’s Fruit & Maple Oatmeal (Specify water instead of milk/cream)
  • Black Filter Coffee
  • Orange Juice
  • English Muffin
  • Maple Syrup
  • Jelly-usually grape or strawberry)

While not the best, a Fruit & Maple bowl isn’t a bad choice, nor is a black coffee, some grape Jelly or a muffin— certainly not as good of a vast vegan options’ menu for breakfast as Carls Jr offers to vegans, but hey, it’s something good enough to get you to your next meal only a few hours later.

 Vegan Lunch/Dinner-Time Options at McDonalds:

  • Baked Apple Pie
  • Apple Slices
  • Side Salad
  • Vegetable sandwich

Unfortunately, all of Mcdonalds’ diets are now vegan-friendly in the United States; some countries have vegan falafel wraps or McAloo-cooked potato sandwiches, or vegan chicken nuggets, but unfortunately, Mcdonalds’ will still do this in the United States. It looks like by 2021 some places in the USA may have a new “McPlant” burger on the menu, however, this is not a common option yet and many places have not added it.

And as usual – No, McDonald’s menu is not yet vegan in the USA; they are vegan in Canada and India and in many countries around the world, but not in the USA.

Vegan Sauce Options and Salad Dressing at McDonalds:

  • Creamy French Salad Dressing
  • Balsamic Vinaigrette Salad Dressing
  • Raspberry Walnut and Red Wine Vinaigrette
  • Classic Oil & Vinegar Salad Dressing
  • Zesty Italian Salad
  • Sesame Ginger Salad Dressing
  • Citrus Splash Salad Dressing
  • Tangy BBQ Sauce
  • Spicy buffalo Sauce
  • Sweet and Sour Sauce
  • Ketchup
  • Mustard
  • Maple Syrup
  • Grape Jelly
  • Strawberry Jelly

Not all of these options will be available at your local McDonalds — They’ll pretty much always have the first two and the most loved ones. However, the others will vary — some remote locations may have none or only a few, while a golden location in a metropolitan city may have almost all of these.

Vegan Drinks at McDonalds:

  • All Sodas
  • Black Filter Coffee
  • Black Iced Coffee
  • Iced Teas
  • Orange Juice
  • Apple Juice
  • Slushy (some locations have no slushies).

Reviews recommend that you avoid frozen black coffee as it is very bitter in taste due to not being cooked in a traditional way, and the sugar will not melt in it so you cannot possibly change the taste – this is because they usually add milk/cream to it as it helps lower the bitterness, but they have no other vegan method for preparing it.

And remember that orange juice is not pulpy, so if you like pulpy orange juice you may want to give it up – but if you like pulp-free it is a good orange juice, no funny business going on.

As plant-based foods around the world become increasingly popular in fashion, restaurants including fast-food chains have become accustomed to meeting the ever-changing needs of their customers. Mc Donald’s is also different.

In the last few years, Mc Donald’s has introduced a variety of “I’m lovin’ it” vegan options on the menu especially in the prime locations of the United Kingdom and Scandinavia. They have Vegetable Deluxe Sandwich and Spicy Veggie Wrap in the UK, McAloo Tikki of India, Vegan Vegetable Nuggets in Norway, Falafel Nuggets in Sweden, McVegan and El Veggo in Finland, and Big Vegan in Germany.

What about the USA?

But what about McDonald’s vegan options’ menu in the USA?  One country that McDonald’s seems to have forgotten about is the United States. There are currently no vegan, wrap, or breakfast sandwiches available on US menus. Adding salt to injury, US McDonald’s certain locations still include Natural Beef Flavour in their French fries’ variety.
